On Wednesday, March 7th, I had the pleasure of participating in my very first World Read Aloud Day, thanks to the LitWorld Organization, http://www.litworld.org/ What a fabulous time I had as the guest reader, via Skype, for Ms. Springer's K-4 students at St. Augustine Catholic School in Memphis, Tennessee. I don't know who was more excited, me or the students! We enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss', One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and my children's picture book, The Curious Polka~Dot Present. After the readings we talked about how long it takes me to write a story and how to put a book together. The students were so polite and well-behaved. Such a special time!

On just this one day, guest readers for WRAD were able to join in with friends from, Jerusalem, Ghana, Kenya, the Philippines, Mexico, Canada, and China (to name a few) in the global fight for the right to read. How wonderful to be able to use modern technology to interact with children from all over the world! Remember, every child should have the right to read, not on just one day but everyday! Read on!
